The Amherst Department of Public Works is responsible for all the town roads, maintenance of town buildings,
the cemeteries, the town green and parks, and the transfer station. They always have a lot to do. You can help, if you see a
road-side tree, or anything else that needs attention, by calling them at the number above.
Office Expansion Dedicated to Richard Crocker |
In 2004, the Amherst Department of Public Works dedicated the highway office expansion and employee break room to
retired Director Richard G. Crocker. Mr. Crocker ran the Amherst Department of Public Works for forty years adjusting and
improving the Amherst way of life along the way. The Town of Amherst was very fortunate to have such a dedicated leader
and individual. |
