Board of Selectmen Public Hearing – August 25, 2014

The Amherst Board of Selectmen, in accordance with RSA 31:95-b: III (a), hereby announces to the citizens of Amherst the convening of a Public Hearing to accept unanticipated revenue in the form of a FEMA grant.

Assistance to Firefighter Grant (AFG) in the amount of $308,750 with a $16,250 town funded match for a total approved project of $325,000 for a purchase of a Pumper (Fire Engine).

The Public Hearing will take place at the Town Hall, 2 Main Street, at the Town Hall, 2 Main Street, at 6:30 PM on August 25, 2014. Any resident who wishes to speak on this matter is invited to attend.

The R.A.D. program is a nationally recognized self defense system specifically for women only. The start date is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 5:00pm @ the Amherst Fire Department.

Live GIS Maps coming for Amherst

The Town of Amherst has partnered with the Nashua Regional Planning Commission to provide a public online Live Maps application that puts standard GIS maps and land-use related information online in a region-wide interactive format. The Live Maps application will be linked with the Town’s property assessment software Vision and should be open to the public by the end of 2013.

In addition, ownership information will now be included on Property Assessment Record Cards currently available on the town website at www.amherstnh.gov as well as the Vision Government Solutions website at www.vgsi.com
