Public Notice – State of NH Current Use Advisory Board

Per RSA 79-A:3, the Current Use Board will be holding a series of (3) public forums across the state to hear questions and comments from the general public pertaining to current use practices and rates.  At the forums, the Board will present its preliminary proposal for current use tax rates for the coming year which include changes to the forestland assessment ranges.

A representative from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will make a brief presentation at each forum on the use of the Soil Potential Index in farmland assessments, and how landowners can obtain an SPI for their property.

Taxpayers are encouraged to attend one of the following forums:

Thursday, November 8, 2012 – Lancaster, North Country Resource Center, 629B Main Street, 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 – Keene Public Library (Kay Fox Room), 60 Winter Street, 6:30 p.m.

Friday, November 16, 2012 – Concord, NH Department of Revenue, 109 Pleasant Street, 9:00 a.m.

Regular Current Use Board meeting will immediately follow the public forum on November 16, in Concord.

Pursuant to RSA 31:95-b: III (a), the Amherst Board of Selectmen shall hold a public hearing in conjunction with its scheduled meeting on November 5, 2013, which starts at 6:30 p.m. and is held in the Landry Meeting Room, Town Hall – 2 Main Street to accept unanticipated money in the amount of $11,384.42.  Any Amherst, NH resident who wishes to speak on this matter is invited to attend.
